About Our Staff
Diane McVey completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Audiology at Ohio University in the 1970’s. After providing audiology services for the Gallipolis Developmental Center and working on a National Institutes of Health grant at Ohio University, she began working with William Diles in 1983. They became partners in the business until full purchase was completed and he retired.
Her husband, Craig Johnson, built their brick professional building at 275 West Union Street in Athens in 1994 which is the main business location for Diles Hearing Centers. Diles Hearing Centers is an audiology practice that specializes in evaluating hearing loss, fitting the most advanced hearing devices and providing the best quality aftercare in Southeast Ohio. The name “Diles” enjoys a reputation for individual caring and helping people hear since 1949.
Nicole (Nikki) Brandes has been with Diles Hearing Centers since 2001. Originally from Northeast Ohio, she returned to Cleveland State University in 1994 for graduate school after completing her Bachelor’s degree at Ohio University in Hearing & Speech Sciences. Prior to moving to the Athens area, her experiences included working for one of Cleveland’s largest ENT groups and for a Columbus area hospital.
Her professional interests include eletrophysiologic and balance testing in addition to the electroacoustic analysis and real ear fittings of today’s digital amplification. Nikki earned her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) in May 2009.
In addition to enjoying the personal atmosphere provided by working at a private practice, Nikki spends much of her time with her husband and two young children.
Pamela Kenniston is the practice manager at Diles Hearing Centers. She has a Bachelor’s in Communication from Plattsburgh State University, New York and holds Masters’ degrees in Health Communication and Health Administration from Ohio University. In addition to her education, she has many years of experience in a variety of industries including education, insurance, law, and developmental disabilities. Her primary focus is to ensure that each patient receives the highest level of customer service in each of our offices. She is also responsible for marketing activities for the practice.
Pam resides in Meigs County with her husband, David. In their free time they enjoy road trips, antiquing and finding new ‘favorite places.’
Jessica Allen is a licensed Ohio State Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS). This designation allows her to do testing, hearing device fittings, and other patient related services in both the Athens and Jackson locations. In addition to her direct hearing healthcare functions, she is responsible for all accounting functions of the practice.
Margaret White is the office assistant for the Jackson office and also works several days in Athens. She has been with Diles Hearing Center since July 2002. Prior to joining Diles she worked for an audiologist in Gallipolis. In addition to front office duties she handles all insurance billings and queries.
Margaret participates in several civic activities and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Boo.
J. Sean McVey graduated in 2009 with a Regents Bachelor of Arts from West Liberty University, in West Virginia. He studied music, including music technology, recording technology, classical theory and ear training, and classical piano, as well as writing. Sean also holds a general class amateur (ham) radio operator’s license, and enjoys technical hobbies such as building computers and sound recording. Currently he is working in our Athens office as our Recall Specialist.
